Configuration
Create a new parameter, if you've not done so before please read this guide. Some of the settings for this type of parameter are special and how to configurate that is detailed here.
Note that Calculation type parameters can only be used with sync direction disabled and sync from BIMEYE.
In step 4 of the parameter creation wizard chose value type Calculation.
Interaxo BIM Data supports two different Data types for calculated parameters: Text & URL.
For URL: In the Calculation input field you can now insert your URL calculation formula. Encapsulate each parameter you would like to use in the formula with brackets { } and use the exact parameter name.
So in the formula example above we have added values from the parameter GTIN to the end of the URL. For each object the calculation can be as follows:
Name | GTIN | Calculation |
Window 9x10 | 7070797006847 | http://product.data/7070797006847 |
Optical fire detector | 7330545132168 | http://product.data/7330545132168 |
If you choose Text you can combine different parameters into larger text. Similar to how you can build URLs.
Calculate values
If there are more objects that gets synced into the project or if values used in the calculation changes for an object you will need to recalculate values for all objects. This is done by navigating to the edit parameter page for the calculation parameter and pressing the Recalculate button in the top right.
Examples of use
Text
Creating Unique references in a project can be time consuming and prone to manual errors. Calculation text parameters can combine text to create Door Numbers, References, Identification Strings like described in the Norwegian Standard for Cross-diciplinary Identification, NS 3457 part 7-9 TFM.
Calculation Parameter Formula | {Door Type}-{Door Mark} |
Door Type | DI |
Door Mark | 2301 |
Calculated Result | DI-2301 |
Calculation Parameter Formula | +{TFM Location}={TFM System}-{TFM Component}T |
TFM Location | 194 |
TFM System | 244.001 |
TFM Component | DI001 |
Calculated Result | +194=244.001-DI001T |
URL
Operation and maintenance documentation like product specifications or other types of technical documentation are usually stored outside of BIM data management in solutions like Interaxo Project.
If you have identifying parameters on these types of documents and on your instance BIM objects such as the Norwegian Standard for Cross-diciplinary Identification etc. you can add calculation parameters that will use this information in a URL like so
- https://ix.interaxo.com/demo-fdv-bim/documentLibrary/{IXP node GUID}/search?Systemkode={TFM Systemkode}&Systeml%C3%B8penr={TFM Sys. løpenr}&ext_node={IXP node GUID}
Where this is the result for a model with full Identification
