How to get to the 3D model
Users have two options for finding the 3D model:
- In the document folder there is a separate model tab. Here you will find the model that is available for the project.
- Drawings that also contain a 3D model view will be visible with a blue arrow icon at the bottom of the screen. Tap the file to bring up the model on the screen (see which views are available below).
NOTE! You can either choose to download before you go out, or when you are at the construction site. This will load the mobile data on your device. You will be asked to download the model when you tap the blue arrow icon.
Full screen or 2 - split view of the model
Users can choose between displaying the 3D model in combination with the drawing or in full screen:
- Split view / "split screen" is the default view and will be visible to the user if the arrow icon is tapped.
- Full screen view - If you press the arrow icon in split view, the user will be moved to only viewing the 3D model.
To return to previous views, simply press the blue arrow icon until the correct view is displayed.
How to navigate around the model
When you open a 3D model in the app, you normally start in Explore Mode with an external overview.
When switching to split screen (2D/3D) view, the app will automatically switch to Walk Mode.

In the app, this mode opens by default in split view (3D + 2D floor plan), making it easy to see both where you are and what you're looking at.
How to use this mode:
- Pinch to move forward
- Drag on the screen to look around / rotate around yourself
- Tap a room in the 2D view to jump there in 3D
- Tap the menu to switch floors

Description of functionalities
Measurement tool
Measurement tool allows you as a user to check measurements on an object or between two points. We currently support 2 different ways to make a measurement, either using "point to point" measurement or "cross" measurement.
Note! The measurement tool is only available in full 3D view.
Point to Point Measurement:
Gives you the distance between two selected points. It can be either from a random location or our "Snap to Edge" functionality will snap the measurement to the nearest edge of the object for precise measurements.
- Press the
- button and select "
" for point to point measurement.
- Tap a point. This will be the starting point for your measurement.
- Tap point #2. This will be the ending point for the measurement.
- The length between the two selected points will automatically be displayed.
- To change one of the measurement points, tap, hold and drag it to the desired new position.
(A lens will be displayed to show you exactly where the measurement started / which object it is attached to) - To exit the functionality. Tap the red cross at the bottom of the screen.
Cross - measurement:
Automatically gives you the height and width of an object (edge to edge measurement) and the vertical distance to the opposite object. So three measurements in one.
- Tap the
- button and select "
" for cross measurement.
- Tap the object. Then the measurements in all three directions will be automatically displayed.
- To change or make a new measurement point. Press, hold and drag it to the desired new position and the measurements will automatically follow.
- To move a measurement point (e.g., to the edge of the next object), use the arrows for fine adjustment.
Section Tool – The user can choose between two different section tools: "Section Plane" or "Section Box".
Section Plane
(Single Cut)

-
Tap "Flip direction" to rotate the section plane 180 degrees.
-
Section Box (Cuts on all 4 sides of the object)
- Tap on Section Box to create a box.
- Select the object you want to create the box around (the box is automatically generated in all directions around the object).

3D models
gives the user the opportunity to select which subject areas the model should display.
By default, all models are displayed in a common view, but individual subjects can be removed by selecting them.
This is done by selecting them from the list and confirming with the save button at the top right of the window. Which subjects are displayed in the list view depend on which subjects are included in the IFC file.
