Summary:
In this user guide, you will learn how to:
1. Getting started - How to create an inspection and complete checkpoints.
2. What the inspection contains - Understand checkpoints, registrations, and reports.
3. Step by step - Review the entire workflow.
In this article, you will learn how to find, open, and work with an inspection—from understanding the inspection information to reviewing checkpoints and viewing registrations associated with the inspection.
Inspections are used when you need to conduct a structured site inspection with multiple independent checkpoints—for example, a facade inspection, condition assessment, or handover inspection.
This guide provides a step-by-step explanation of how to work with an Inspection in the Interaxo Capture app.
The following topics are covered:
1.0 What is an inspection
Inspections are used to conduct a structured site inspection with multiple independent checkpoints—for example, a facade inspection, condition assessment, or handover inspection. An inspection brings together properties (who, when, where), a list of checkpoints to be reviewed, and registrations (documentation, issues, tasks) that arise along the way. Finally, the inspection is generated as a report and signed, ensuring that the work is documented and traceable.
2.0 How to find and open an inspection
- Find the menu on the left.
- Under Processes , select an inspection.
- You will now see a list of all completed inspections.
- Each row represents an inspection.
- Click one of the rows to open a side menu (on the right) that summarizes the content at a high level.
- Click Open entry in the side menu to open a detailed view. detailed view.
3.0 How to work with an Inspection
An inspection is structured as follows:
- General inspection information (who/where).
- Checkpoints (What should be checked)
-
Registrations (findings/observations) associated with the checkpoints. These may be:
- Documentation
- Issue
- Task
- Additional information (location, attachments, comments, and log)
- Connected registrations.
3.1 General information (who/where).
This section provides the full context of what the inspection concerns, who is participating, and other information that is important for you as customers to collect. These values may therefore vary from project to project and from customer to customer.
We recommend the following typical setup:
- Project name or Title – Name of the inspection or project.
- Address or Area – Where the inspection is conducted or applies.
- Inspection date – Date of the inspection. Useful if you are planning ahead.
- Responsible person - The user/user group responsible for conducting the inspection.
- Participants – Who is participating.
The system also automatically enters:
- Created / Created by – When and by whom the record was created.
- Modified / Modified by – The time of the latest change and the person who made it.
These system fields are used for tracking and cannot be edited.
How to change this information
- Click the Edit - button above the property fields.
- Adjust the fields (for example, a new date or updated participant list).
- Click Save.
Note! If the inspection has been completed and/or locked for editing, the “Edit” button will not be visible. Check whether there is a padlock in front of the inspection title.
3.2 Checkpoints (What should be checked)
Checkpoints are a list of all topics or categories that should be thoroughly reviewed during the inspection. The values may therefore vary. Here are some examples:
- Health
- Environment
- Quality
- Progress
- Finances
- Logbook
- Requirements and specifications
The checkpoints are checked and completed continuously, more naturally at the construction site through the Interaxo Capture App, but they can also be worked on here. As a user, you can:
- Review the list and mark which checkpoints you have checked and approved.
- See whether there are registrations associated with one or more checkpoints. Checkpoints with associated registrations will display the number of registrations to the right of the checkpoint.
- Create a new registration directly from the form; see Create a new registration below.
The checkpoints help ensure that all relevant parts of the object/building have been reviewed.
3.3 Registrations (findings/observations)
All observations you have registered during the inspection are listed here. For each registration, you can click into it to view descriptions, open attachments, and see its location in the model or on the map.
Create a new registrations
You can create a new registration from an inspection. You can choose between three types:
- Documentation – General findings and observations.
- Issue – Conditions that deviate from requirements or the expected standard and need to be followed up.
- Task – A specific action to be performed, with a responsible person and, if applicable, a deadline.
Note! This article covers inspections. For a detailed review of issues and tasks, see How to register and follow up on issue and How to create and assign tasks. Follow the link in the buttom of the page.
3.4 Additional information (location, attachments, comments, and log)
-
Location: Shows an overall view of where all registrations are located.
- Switch between the model and the map.
- Navigate to the correct part of the model or map while reviewing checkpoints and registrations.
- When you are viewing an individual registration, you can see its location and, if necessary, update it.
-
Attachments: Upload images, documents, or other files associated with this inspection.
- Comments: Discuss the findings—for example, professional clarifications or decisions about further measures.
This makes it easy to see both what was found and where in the building it was found.
3.5 Connected registrations
You can connect a registration to other entries without restrictions on the type or where they come from. An inspection can be connected to documentation, issues, tasks, or other inspections—both within Interaxo Capture and across the administrative processes in Interaxo Project.
Create a connection:
- Click Add connection.
- Search for the desired registration.
- Click + Add to create the connection.
Once registrations are connected, you can easily navigate back and forth between them.
Remove a connection:
- Click x next to the connection.
- Confirm the removal.
This article provides only an overview. For a complete review, see How to use connected registrations.
4. Typical ways to use inspections
- Planned condition inspections of buildings, facades, roofs, etc.
- Handover inspections upon completion.
- Periodic inspections (for example, annual inspections).
- HSE rounds with fixed checkpoints for each area.
