What to think about when setting up a project to work with Interaxo BIM Data
Classification
Archicad default classification and its versions
Different versions of Archicad (AC) can have different versions of their classifiation system. This Classification system is what Interaxo BIM Data uses to differentiate objects from each other such as doors from windows or walls. Interaxo BIM Data will always use the latest available Archicad Classification in the model. Situations can occur where there will be more than one Archicad Classification system like
- Copy & paste from old projects into a new
- Hotlinking contents of an old file to a new project file
- Merging old projects into new ones
- Opening the model in a newer AC-version with the actual intent of migration
In order for the model to work properly with Interaxo BIM Data you will need to upgrade the Classification on all objects to the latest Classification version in that model, so for example from Archicad Classification 22 to Arhicad Classification 23.
Changing Classification on an object
While classifications are very flexible in Archicad Interaxo BIM Data needs Classifications or Categories (Doors, Windows etc.) to be constant for a single object and will regard it as a new object if the category is changed. So to avoid potential sync issues we advice to not change Classifications on objects synced to Interaxo BIM Data but rather create completly new ones with the new Classification.
Reserve
Before the first sync of the model is performed a full reservation of the model is required including reservation of the property manager in Archicad.
Hotlinks
Interaxo BIM Data does not support objects in hotlinks, read more.
