Short summary
This guide shows you step by step how to:
1. Select the correct inspection type.
2. How to fill in parameters for the inspection.
3. How to work with checkpoints.
4. How to add registrations.
5. How to finish an inspection with Save & Finish.
This guide shows you step by step how to create an Inspection in Interaxo Capture.
The following will be covered:
3.1 How to select inspection type
3.2 Fill in Initial fields for the inspection
3.4 Add registrations to the inspection
3.6 Save and finish the inspection
1.0 What is an inspection
An inspection in Interaxo Capture is a structured template customized for use during site visits. The predefined checklists are used to record multiple individual findings (registrations) within the same round. During the inspection, you document observations with text, photos, and other information, and link the findings to the correct project, area, discipline, or object. Typical examples of inspections are SHA site visit, safety round, final inspection, and control round.
2.0 Types of Inspections
In Interaxo Capture, the administrator can set up various templates/checklists for inspections, for example:
- SHA round
- Safety round
- Quality inspection
- Final inspection
For the user, these are displayed as named inspection types with predefined and control points.
Note! The inspections are flexible and can be customized for each project and customer, so which templates are available will vary from solution to solution.
3.0 Create a new inspection
3.1 How to select inspection type
From the main page, first choose the type of registration:
- At the bottom left, select Type of registration.
- Select Inspection.
- You will now see a list of available inspection types, for example:
- Construction manager report.
- KU Report.
- Condition inspection.
- Reuse mapping.
- Tap the desired inspection type.
The app now opens the inspection form for the selected type, e.g. “KU Report”.
Note! Which types of inspections are in the list is controlled by the project setup. This may vary between projects.
3.2 Fill in Initial fields for the inspection
Tap the section at the top of the form. Here you should fill in the fields that provide the context and information about the inspection that has been carried out, for example:
- Who has reported.
- Date and time
- Other required information
At the start you will see:
- Mandatory: ⚠️ 2 fields not filled in
- Signed: ⚠️ Not signed
When the inspection is fully completed and signed:
- Mandatory: ✅ All filled in.
- Signed: ✅ Signed (Signature functionality is described in a separate article. See here.)
When you are finished, go back to the main view for the inspection.
Note: Which parameters exist, and which are mandatory, is controlled by the project setup. This may vary between projects.
3.3 Work with checkpoints
Tap the Checkpoint section. Here you will see a list of checkpoints belonging to the inspection type, e.g. 10 points to be checked.
Typical workflow:
-
Read through the checkpoints
- Open the Checkpoints section and go through the list to see what needs to be checked in the inspection.
Once you are familiar with the points, go back to the main view and start the actual inspection.
- Open the Checkpoints section and go through the list to see what needs to be checked in the inspection.
-
Link registrations to checkpoints along the way
As you carry out the inspection, create registrations and link each registration to the correct checkpoint in the list.
The progress bar in the Checkpoints section updates continuously, for example to “7 out of 10 checkpoints marked”. -
Check status as the inspection nears completion
When you are finished with the round, you can go back to the Checkpoints section to get a quick overview:- how many checkpoints are marked.
- how many registrations are linked to each checkpoint.
-
Mark checkpoints without findings as checked
For checkpoints where no registrations have been made (no findings/nonconformities), you can still mark them as checked. This way you clearly show that these points have also been reviewed.
3.4 Add registrations to the inspection
Registrations are individual documentations belonging to the inspection.
In the Registrations section, do the following:
- Tap Add registration.
- You will now enter the same documentation process as described in the guide for Documentation:
- Add location in the model.
- Take or select photo/video.
- Write description.
- Fill in any fields.
- Finish with Create documentation.
When the documentation is created, it will appear as a line in the Registration list, with:
- Thumbnail
- Title / short text
- Type (e.g. HSE board)
- Date and time
Repeat + Add registration to add more registrations to the same inspection.
Tip: Use one registration per finding, so it is clear what applies to each registration and which checkpoint it concerns.
3.5 Generate report + Sign the inspection
- Open the inspection.
- Tap the report icon at the top right.
- You will see a Preview of the report.
- In the preview, tap Sign report.
- Tap Add signature.
- Enter Name, and draw signature in the field.
- Tap Place signature, and place the signature in the correct place in the report.
- When the signature is placed, tap Create report to complete. The report is now saved as an attachment in the inspection.
3.6 Save and finish the inspection
When you are satisfied with the completion:
- Check that:
- Mandatory fields are filled in.
- Relevant checkpoints are marked.
- Necessary registrations are created and visible in the list.
- Tap Save & Close at the bottom.
The inspection will now be:
- Saved in the app
- Available for further follow-up in Interaxo Capture WEB)
If mandatory fields are missing, you will see a warning about this (for example, text stating that mandatory fields are not filled in). You must complete these points before the inspection can be finished.
4.0 Edit an inspection
You can open an existing inspection at any time and change fields such as text, images, or location in the model.
How to do it:
- Open the inspection you want to change, either from the list view or directly from the model.
- Update any main fields by tapping the field and entering/selecting a new value.
- Tap the checkpoints if you want to mark them as checked.
- If you want to add new documentation or change an existing registration, tap “+ Add registration” or select the relevant registration and fill in as usual.
- Save the changes.
