With the new comparison feature, you can easily see the differences between two versions of the same PDF file, regardless of version number. You can start the comparison directly from the version history column or by right-clicking on the desired file. This provides a quick and clear way to review changes in both text and drawing documents.
Comparison via version history
- Open version history
- From the list view, click the version history icon () to see previous versions of the selected file.
- Select versions
- Check the boxes for the two versions you want to compare.
- Select document type
- Choose whether the file should be analyzed as a text document or a drawing document.
Text document: The two versions are displayed side by side. Changes are listed as annotations in the right-hand menu. Click an annotation to jump directly to the specific change in the document.
Drawing document: The two versions are overlaid. Changes are highlighted with colors to make differences clear.
- Choose whether the file should be analyzed as a text document or a drawing document.
Start comparison
Click Compare to open the view.
End comparison
Close the document by clicking the X button in the top-right corner.
Note: Color coding is as follows: Red marks deleted content, and green marks new content. This applies to both text and drawing documents. Example shown from a drawing document.
Comparison via list view
The feature can also be started directly from the file:
Right-click the file you want to compare and select Compare version from the menu.
Or, select the file, click More options, and then Compare version.
Once the comparison is started this way, the workflow follows the same steps described above (steps 2–5): select which versions to compare, choose document type (text or drawing), click Compare, and close the document with the X button when finished.
