What to think about when setting up a project to work with Interaxo BIM Data
Unique objects
Interaxo BIM Data works with unique objects to be able to enrich each object in the models correctly. Therefore each object in the model needs to have its own IFC GUID (global unique identifier), objects can't share these between themselves such that for example two walls have the same IFC GUID because Interaxo BIM Data can't know which wall to update with information in that case.
The same restrictions apply between models so that a building storey can't share GUID between two models. This will sometimes be the case if you export multiple IFC models from the same original design tool, therefore we recommend to sync just one IFC model for each original model file.
New versions and IFC Transit Models
If you use Interaxo BIM Data to enrich models during the project and will receive new versions of the IFC files from the original design models you should use the option "IFC Transit Model".
It is very important that objects keep their IFC GUIDs after a new export. Most design tools will have no problems with this but designers & engineers need to change or switch their objects rather than delete them if they want to get the enriched data in Interaxo BIM Data to still apply to the same object. If the Architect deletes a door and then places a new door at that location Interaxo BIM Data will regard it as a new door and any data associated with that door will not be enriched on the new one automatically.
