Drawing polygons
Space polygons are used to define rooms, controllarea and axes. In this way, registrations in the app get correct indication of position and you can link up information to the different positions for use in checklists. To draw new rooms, controlareas or axes:
- Go to Interaxo Field WEB.
- Find the correct PDF - drawing in the drawinglist.
- Click the "Edit polygon" - button.
- Choose which type of polygon you want to work with.
- Room
- Controlarea
- Axes
- For Rooms do the following:
- Press the green pencil on the toolbar or hotkey 2 to draw a room polygon. To quickly draw one room, tap on each corner of the room.
- Press "C" to confirm.
- Then press "S" to enter the room name and room number.
- For Controlarea do the following:
- Press the red pencil on the toolbar or hotkey 3 to draw a room polygon. To quickly draw one control area, tap each corner of the desired area.
- Press "C" to confirm.
- Press "S" to enter the room name and room number.
- For axes do the following:
- Press the horizontal symbol on the toolbar or hotkey "H" to draw up horizontal axes. Press once at the desired starting point, and once at the desired exit point. Name the axis with the desired name. (Repeats x - number of times based on the number of horizontal axes)
- Perform the same process for vertical axes.
- Polygon is created automatically when 2 vertical and 2 horizontal axes create a closed area. The name is generated based on which axes surround the closed polygon.
Remember to press the save button in the top right corner.
Moving and rotating polygons
Moving polygons is especially useful when importing Rooms via IFC files. It is also necessary when setting up a project with BIM in it. After opening the polygon editor, the rooms/areas will be twisted incorrectly in relation to the floor plan.
To be able to turn this around correctly:
- Select the type of polygon you want to move (space, control area, axis).
- First, press the rotate symbol or hotkey "R" on the top toolbar.
- Press the center of the room/area with the left mouse button and move them slightly to the right of the floor plan.
- Press the right mouse button to enter the rotate mode.
- Rotate and position it correctly.
- Press "ESC" to confirm.
- Remember to press the save button in the top right corner.
Saving Polygons
When you press the save button at the top right, you can be presented with up to 4 choices:
- Save created polygons on all files in the folder structure
Option 1 applies if all your drawings inside the same project apply to the same area and have the same zero point. - Save created polygons on all files in the folder
Option 2 is similar to option 1 only that it is about folders instead of projects - Save created polygons on only single file
Option 3 Is if your polygons match only one drawing.
Polygon selector and polygon visibility
This guide will show you how to use the Polygon selector to choose which polygon you would like to see the name of. It's not possible to display the names of a single polygon if all of them appear in the drawing.
- Select in the polygon list which type you want to work with.
- Room
- Control area
- Axes
- Select the symbol arrow or use hotkey "S" and press the desired polygon.
- In the lower right corner, you can see the name of the polygon.
- There, the name can also be edited if desired.
- Remember to hit the save button at the top right corner.
Deleting polygons
Deleting polygons can be helpful in getting rid of unwanted polygons.
(NOTE! You can only work with one type at a time to erase the desired polygon. Follow the steps below.)
- Select in the polygon list which type you want to work with.
- Room
- Control area
- Axes
- Select the symbol arrow or use hotkey "S" and press the desired polygon.
- Then tap on the trash can symbol or press the hotkey "X". It will now ask you if you are absolutely sure if you want to delete.
- Remember to tap the save button in the top right corner.
If you are drawing one polygon but want to cancel, press the "ESC" key.
How to duplicate polygons
In projects there are buildings that often have several similar rooms. Here you can duplicate existing polygons to complete the process faster. In this article, we'll learn two things:
Duplication
- Select the arrow symbol or use the hotkey "S".
- Click on the polygon that you want duplicated.
- Then tap on the duplicate symbol or hotkey "D".
- Press the middle of the polygon you want duplicated.
- Tap the desired location of duplicate polygon.
(Can now be placed on x - number of rooms without interference) - Press "ESC" to end duplication.
- Remember to tap the save button at the top right corner.
To duplicate a polygon select it with the “S” button/icon, then press the “D” button/icon and click on the selected polygon.
Change after the polygon is drawn
You can change the shape of polygons after they are drawn.
- Select in the polygon list which type you want to work with.
- Room
- Control area
- Axes
- Press the pencil symbol or hotkey "M".
- Click on the polygon you want changed.
- Blue "nodes" will appear, and by clicking and moving these you can change their shape.
- You can also add extra "nodes" by clicking on the lines in the polygon.
- Remember to hit the save button in the top right corner.
Align with 3D
When subproject's are created by using the BIM function the scale of the polygons are not matched with the scale of the drawing. This makes it hard to adjust the polygons to the drawing. The solution is to adjust the polygons by using the align function.
This is how you align polygons that have a different scale then your drawing:
(NOTE! Rotate the Polygons correctly before doing the steps below.)
- Find the room in the drawing located in the upper left corner.
- Find the 90 degree angle in the upper-left corner of this room.
- Press the puzzle symbol or use hotkey "A".
- Click on the corner in the upper left corner and direct the line to the room polygon that belongs there, then click on that corner.
- Do the same with the bottom right room and polygon.
- Once both lines are drawn, press the spacebar to align the polygons.
(NOTE2! If the polygons do not align correctly and you want to try again, just refresh the browser window)
