Summary
In this user guide, you will learn how to:
1. Getting started - How to create an issue in the app, either directly from the model view or from an inspection.
2. What the Issue contains - Understand the fields, location, and notifications.
3. Step by step - Review the entire creation flow, from registration type to submission.
This guide shows you step by step how to create an issue in Interaxo Capture.
The following topics are covered:
- What is an issue.
- How to create an issue.
- How to work with an issue.
- Edit an issue.
- Notifications.
- Typical ways to use issues.
1.0 What is an issue
Issues are used to identify and follow up on conditions that deviate from requirements, expected standards, or normal operations—for example, damage, deficiencies, HSE conditions, or quality issues. While documentation or an inspection documents an observation, the issue process ensures that the observation is actually followed up until it has been corrected: someone is assigned responsibility, a deadline is set, and the status always shows where the matter stands. This provides traceability from finding to closed matter—something that is essential in all issue management.
2.0 Create a new issue
An issue can be created in two ways in the app:
-
Directly from the model, map, or camera view:
- Open the app and select the desired work mode.
- Tap the registration type menu at the bottom of the screen, and select Issue.
(Issue is now selected by default and remains selected until the user switches to another process) - Tap the desired point in the model or map, or take a picture of the issue.
- Tap + Create.
- Fill in the form and tap Create.
-
From an inspection:
- Create a registration of the type Issue and link it to a specific checklist item.
- The process for filling it out is approximately the same as for regular registrations, but the location and checklist item are handled slightly differently. (See How to work with inspections for details about this workflow)
3.0 How to work with an issue
3.1 Fill in the fields
The order in which you fill in the information may vary slightly, depending on which work mode you come from. In the section below, we show the entire workflow for an empty issue registration, from top to bottom in the form. This allows you to see all the steps that may be part of an issue process—regardless of whether you started from a location, camera, or video.
Note: Which fields are displayed and what must be filled in for you to create the issue are determined by how the project is set up. Required fields will be clearly marked during the registration process.
3.2 Set a location
Location is a basic feature that works the same way regardless of which registration type you create or where in the app you start. You have two ways to set a location:
-
Tap directly on a point in the 3D model or map. This is the fastest method when you are already in the model or map view.
-
Use "Add location" from within an issue. Tap the button, and then choose whether you want to place the point in the model or on the map. On the map, you can search for an address using the search icon, or tap directly on the map to place the point manually.
- Confirm to add the location.
Regardless of which method you use, the location is displayed as a card at the top of the form—either with the name of the model point or as "Area location" with an address when a map is used.
3.3 Add images and videos
- Tap + under Images and videos.
- Choose whether you want to take a new picture or video with the camera (switch between Picture and Video at the bottom of the camera view), or select an existing picture from the photo library.
- You can add multiple pictures and videos to the same issue.
3.4 General information
One or more additional fields at the bottom of the form that make it easier to search for, filter, and follow up on the issue afterward. The fields can be text fields, list selections, or date fields. Tap each field and select a value or enter text. Which parameters you see and whether they are required are controlled by the project setup and may therefore vary from project to project. Examples of fields may include:
- Title – Free-text field. Enter a descriptive title; it is not generated automatically.
- Description – Free text describing the issue.
- Responsible person(s) – Searchable field where you select one or more people or groups to follow up on the issue.
- Due date – Date by which the issue must be corrected.
- Completed – A simple yes/no confirmation that the issue has been corrected. Completed is linked to Due date and Responsible person(s) as a small follow-up package, but does not change the status or functionality by itself—it is only a confirmation. From Completed, you can then change Step to, for example, Done or Closed.
- Issue type – List field: Quality, HSE, Design, Documentation, Functional, Environmental, Other.
- Severity – List field: Low, Medium, High, Critical.
- Step – see separate section below.
Fields marked "Required" must be completed before the Create button becomes active.
4.0 Edit an issue
An issue can be edited in two ways in the app:
-
Via a marker in the model or map:
- Tap the marker that shows the registration. The number on the marker shows how many registrations are located at the same point—not a sequence.
- A list appears at the bottom with the registrations linked to the point.
- Tap the desired registration to open it in the editing view.
- Make your changes, and tap Save.
-
Via the overview:
- Open the main menu and go to Overview.
- Under the Registrations tab, you will find all registrations collected together—both standalone issues and issues created from an inspection.
- Tap the desired registration to open the same editing view as above.
In the editing view, you can change, among other things, Step, as well as Title, Description, Responsible person(s), Deadline, Completed, Issue type, and Severity.
If the issue was created from an inspection, a separate link card is displayed at the top showing which inspection it originated from—tap the arrow to go directly there. A standalone issue does not have this link because it is not linked to an inspection.
Note: An entire inspection cannot be edited via the marker on the model—only via the Inspections tab in the overview list. The markers on the model show registrations within the inspection, not the inspection object itself.
5.0 Notifications
Responsible person(s) and Deadline are linked to the notification feature: the person or group assigned the issue is automatically notified by email. The email can be opened on your mobile device, and you will be taken to the relevant issue in the app.
6.0 Typical ways to use issues
- Register a issue directly at the construction site, with the location automatically set to where you are standing in the model.
- Assign a responsible person and deadline directly from your mobile device so that the person is notified immediately.
- Document the issue with a picture or video on site.
- Create the issue directly from an inspection, linked to the correct checklist item.
